Your First Visit
What to do beforehand
You will need a referral from your GP or medical specialist prior to attending your first appointment. Please can you ensure the referral is less than 12 months old at the date of your first appointment.
Prior to attending we will send you some questionnaires to complete. Please complete and send them back prior to attending. These questionnaires are an important part of your first visit, as they allow your specialist to get a broad and comprehensive understanding of you and your pain.
On the day, please bring your referral with you, along with any scans and reports relevant to your pain. Please also bring your current medications or an up-to-date list that contains the name and dose of each medication, including how often you take it.
Our specialists do their best to run on time but sometimes things happen and appointments get delayed. Please bring something with you to read or do. We offer free wi fi in our reception, and there is a good coffee shop in the foyer.
At the end of your appointment your specialist will advise you of the treatment plan and next steps. They will also write to your referrer and, with your permission, anyone else involved in your care.
